The Nine Arch Bridge (Ella) To capture the best shot with the bridge in the background, head toward Cocinita Bar and then descend to the left as soon as you cross the train tracks. Be careful, it’s not easy to get down. 2. Silent Beach (Tangalle) This spot is very easy to find. Just follow Google Maps to the beach. The beach is stunning, an absolute Instagram heaven. 3. The Train Ride Instead of the famous Kandy-to-Ella direction, try it the other way around. Board the Ella Odyssey at Badulla station and you’ll often have an entire wagon to yourself. Be cautious when leaning out! 4. Sigiriya Rock This photo spot is located on Hotel Road, in front of Sigiriya Tank, right next to the Ceylon Curry Hub Sigiriya restaurant. 5. Pidurangala Rock For the best photos, once you reach the top, head to the far left. Most people go right to watch the sunrise, but the left side gives you a more unique perspective. 6. The Train Track (Ahangama) This specific spot is at the crossing of Dharmarama Mawatha Road and Sangarathana Road, right next to Achini Stores. 7. The Banyan Tree (Galle Fort) This massive tree is located at Court Square, where Queen’s Street meets Hospital Street. 8. The Ella Swing The swing is right next to the Ravana Pool Club. We captured this shot ourselves from the small road above the swing office. 9. Safari in Minneriya For the best shot, lean carefully outside the jeep, holding on with one hand, and make sure elephants are in the background. 10. Frog Rock (Dalawella Beach) For this iconic picture, you’ll need to climb to the top of the rock. It’s moderately challenging, but be extra cautious on the way down, it’s much trickier. 11. The Tea Plantations We took this photo at the UVA Halpewatte Tea Factory, but you’ll find picturesque plantations almost everywhere. For the perfect Instagram shot, bring a basket and wear traditional tea-picking attire.
