A 30 day Sri Lanka itinerary from a family with young kids who prioritise surfing and adventure 🇱🇰 Here’s everything we did: Day 1-2: Pick up tuktuk from Negombo and head straight to Sigiriya. Climb lions rock early in the morning and/or Pidurangala rock for the best views. Do an elephant safari in Kaudulla national park Day 3: Drive to Kandy. Walk to the top of the Buddhist temple, enjoy the street food and pure chaos Day 4-5: Head to Ella. Hike little Adam’s peak, visit the nine arch bridge, Ravana waterfall. Day 6-16: Arugam bay is a vibe, and like I said we prioritise surfing on our trips. Surf surf surf. Climb elephants rock, drive to the crocodile bridge to spot some crocs. Take a drive towards elephant rock around 5:30pm to see wild elephants going for a walk. Eat all the roti you can! Day 17-18: Yala national park. Most definitely drive down the B35 road to spot wild animals yourselves. Do a morning and and evening safari for best chances of seeing all animals Day 19-29: The South Coast. There is a lot to cover! The places we visited were: Tangalle - long stretch of beach and head to @tangalle_rice_and_curry for their cooking experience buffet! Dikwella & Hiriketiya Beach - surfing and snorkelling with turtles. If it’s in the budget head to @smoke.bitters one evening for the most amazing food! Mirissa - The famous coconut tree hill sunset spot Galle & Unawatuna Beach - A beautiful old town in Galle with unlimited quirky shops. Snorkelling and scuba diving close by as well as great sunset spots! Weligama - unlimited surf breaks for everyone Hikkaduwa - SO MANY TURTLES! Get your snorkel and go on a boat trip or just from the beach to spot all the turtles. The south coast is full of tiny beaches and surf spots. Grab a tuktuk and explore! Day 30 - Colombo. Enjoy all the temples and food you can fit in one day. On arrival we were granted a 30 day tourist visa. When heading to the airport we realised we were leaving on day 31 instead of day 30. Worried we’d get fined we quickly looked up how much it would be only to find that Sri Lanka has a 5 day grace period for going over your visa!!! So no fine for us 😊😊
